STARTING A NEW SCHOOL/CLUB

Starting a new school or club can be really exciting, but it can also be quite a scary time. Making new friends and getting used to your new surroundings can be worrying for anyone, but it can be even more worrying if you have a medical condition. sammya1

Will I have a reflex anoxic seizure or special sleep in front of these new people?
Will everyone know how to help me if I do?
Will people treat me differently?

These are just a few of the many questions that may be troubling you.

Once your teachers and friends know all about your condition you will begin to feel much more confident and positive just like Sammy did in his story.

If you have any problems, let a teacher or your parents know. You can always email STARS at education@stars.org.uk
