If you are planning on staging event such as sporting events, plays, films or dances you may need a public entertainment licence. Again your local authority can advice you on this.
As a rule of thumb statutory notice periods tend to depend on the size of the event. A general guide is:
- Small events such as an auction would require 28 days.
- Medium events such as a carnival. 28 days.
- A large event is anything with over 5000 attendees, possible road closures and entertainment licenses. Six to nine months.
